Nagano's first experience with the bathtub...

I wasn't giving him a bath, he just wanted to explore. Oh, and by the way, we went to LA for Cherise's wedding last weekend and we had a wonderful couple come over and feed/play with our cats while we were gone: @HomePetCare. They were great; highly organized (which of course I love) and very friendly. They were able to deal with my special situation of a new kitten still being introduced to an older cat. So, I highly recommend them for anyone in the Austin area. : )

Cat Condo!

Hey! So we got a cat condo now. Nagano LOVES it, Tigger is...sometimes amused enough to sit on the lowest level. Although this gives Nagano a prime target for playing. We took Tigger to the vet, he's all clear of parasites and got his yearly vaccines.

1/2 Main Coon Cat

Well, it turns out our little Nagano is 1/2 Main Coon Cat! This means that if you thought Tigger was big, you ain't seen nothing yet! Apparently Main Coon Cats can get to 25 lbs and 3ft 4in in length! As he's only half breed, he probably won't get this big and the good news is the cats are known for their "high intelligence and playfulness" :) Anyway, here's more adorable footage of kitten tiredness.

Nagano's Mouse Catching Skills

In news, we took him to the vet today, Cat Hospital of Austin, good place. He got the start of his vaccines and a clean bill of health except for some intestinal track worms. We just have to give him some medicine orally for 10 days and it will be cleared. The bad news is that we have to take Tigger to the vet now (in case he got the worms from Nagano), and he is a nasty cat when he goes. Enough of that though, more adorable kitten footage!!

The Meeting

Noel read up on some advice for introducing a new kitten to an old cat and it suggested first letting them smell each other through a cage.

Since they were doing so well with this task we decided to let Nagano out.

Meet Nagano (named after Makoto Nagano of Ninja Warrior fame), 10 weeks old. We got him from a co-worker at Ticom on a Wednesday afternoon. He will be meeting Tigger, 10 yrs old, soon.
